We took a taxi from the airport and told him to take us to La Candelaria. Once there we began to ask about the hostels whose facade caught our attention. In the end we stayed in one of the small ones for about 24,000 pesos each. A very cozy double room and a shared bathroom down a rather narrow spiral staircase.

The area is very good in terms of location but be careful at nightfall because robberies and small robberies are somewhat frequent.

In our second stay in the city the thing was very different. The story began when I was at the airport waiting for my friend Mel to arrive. There I started a conversation with a couple of Colombian girls waiting for the arrival of a London friend. After some good laughs and the arrival of Mel, one of the girls asked me where we were going to stay and we told her that in La Candelaria, but we still had no fixed place. She offered to call her sister who rented rooms in her house for people who gave her a good thorn. We, with our sympathy and know how to be - and smell - we gave it to him. He did and we agreed to notify her for our return to the city two weeks later.

And that was how after 15 days we stayed with Javier and Marta in their house in a middle class area. They gave us our own rooms with a double bed and we had a bathroom for both of us on the top floor of the house that we shared with their owners. By 25,000 pesos a night each one was much better than what we could find out there and also the owners were very nice at all times, giving us advice about the city and taking me to the airport on my last day.

It was a good experience. If you want to try it, you can tell me because I told them about our blog and they were delighted with the idea of ‚Äč‚Äčcommenting on it in an article.
